When Marcella of What A Wonderful World asked, “Where would you go if the world was a city?”, my mind swirled with the possibilities. Italy, Laos, the Cook Islands, Norway… imagine if they were all just a stroll away!
You could wake with the sunrise in New Zealand, and listen to the bell-like tones of the dawn chorus as birds sing across the valley.
You could breakfast on fresh croissants, crusty baguette and sweet jam in Paris.
Before burning it all off again with a hike up a mountain in the gorgeous fjords of Norway.
Of course, after that you’d need to cool off, and where better to do it than the crystal clear waters of Turkey?
All that exertion definitely requires a good lunch. The fresh flavours of Vietnamese food, washed down with a cool beer, may be just what you’re after!
Time for a stroll. Check out the colourful streets of Copenhagen, from the gorgeous harbour of Nyhavn to the fascinating independence of Christiana.
And now, it’s beach time. Lounge on the white sands of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, or take a dip in those clear waters to spot the huge variety of colourful fish life swimming in the lagoon.
Before tucking into a spot of afternoon tea and fluffy scones in London – champagne optional!
Marcella and I both love our street art, and there’s plenty to spot in Berlin as you wander the city, from the gritty area of Kreuzberg to the political statements of the Berlin Wall.
Then wander on down to Athens and watch the Acropolis turn golden with the sunset from a rooftop bar.
From there’s it’s just a hop, skip jump to Rome for dinner, where I will dream forever of finding this succulent red wine and wild boar tagliatelle again.
And finish your night with a street party in Lisbon, where you’re bound to make a new friend or two!
Many thanks to Marcella for the post idea! Where would you go if the world was a city?
