Spending Jan 1 visiting my newest country – Austria!
And just like that, the first month of 2017 is already long gone. The whirlwind pace has clearly been too much for me, as I just wrote January 2016… but from politics to seven flights in 14 days, I’ve found it hard to keep up! I rocketed from the depths of European winter to the midst of New Zealand summer, and had a heady two weeks of catch-ups, culminating in two weddings and a 30th back-to-back-to-back. It was a short trip that left me ruing the distance it takes to go home, and the lack of infinite annual leave, but also valuing the time I did get to spend with friends and family. Check it out!
Winter run training may be hard, but watercolour skies like this make it worth it

Favourite posts this month:
- My 2017 Travel Wishlist: always such a fun one to write! I’ve got some fun already lined up for the year, and lots of ideas about how to use the rest of my leave.
- Hiking the Seven Sisters: without a doubt one of my favourite adventures of 2016 – such a perfect day.
So, how’s February treating you – are you freezing in the snow or baking in the Southern Hemisphere sunshine? I’m planning on checking off one or two more of my ideas from my London Winter Cool List, and reading alllll the guides to delicious food (and culture) in Vienna in preparation for my weekend there at the end of the month. Stay tuned!
