Yellow Eyed Penguins on the Waitangi Day Pub Crawl
February may be a short month but I packed a lot in! Joe and I booked in a last-minute trip to Bordeaux for the end of the month to reunite with my sister and her boyfriend, but before that there were beautiful sunrises, great gigs, and more than one opportunity for dress-ups. Here’s my highlights!
Sunrise on the City of London
All dressed up for a Great Gatsby party
Sunrise canal-side in Angel
Wise words from street art
Most Popular Instagram for February:
Signs of spring in Mile End
Exploring chilly Bordeaux
Vines full of promise in Saint-Émilion
Wine blending – serious business and also one of the most fun things we did in Saint-Émilion!
My favourite sunny little cafe in central Bordeaux
And then the snow hit London and it was totally magical!
Finishing February with the most snow in London in over a decade was a definite highlight – although of course I’m also thinking of those for whom it is a much more serious issue. For those in London, you can donate to the London Charities Homeless Group here to help end rough sleeping.
Favourite posts of February:
- Cesky Krumlov – A Fairytale Town: prettier than a picture, Cesky was the perfect place to spend a few days wandering and ringing in the new year!
- 48 Hours of Eating + Exploring in Vienna: how many pieces of cake can you fit into a weekend in Vienna? We attempted to find out!
So March has started just as snowy as February ended, although I’m sure it won’t last for too much longer. I’ve got more gigs to look forward to and Easter rapidly approaching, with a trip one of my most-anticipated destinations – Lake Bled! Let me know if you have any tips – we’re planning hiking and rowing on the lake, but would love to know any other ideas.
What do you have planned for March?
