April was all about making the most of the late summer sunshine and warm temperatures that we were blessed with in New Zealand this year – and trying not to ponder too hard whether it was global warming! We headed up north for an Easter escape with friends which we spent relaxing, playing endless rounds of games (Bananagrams is my new fave), reading and exploring, with the literal highlight being our climb up Mount Manaia. Here’s my April!
Whether you’re sailing out of Split to explore the beautiful Croatian islands close by, or hopping along the coast to Dubrovnik and beyond, make sure you save some time to explore this fascinating city. Originally designed as the retirement palace for the Roman emperor Diocletian, today its narrow alleys are a mix of tourist spots, restaurants, and living history. Here’s my favourite spots!
March was a weird month. The tragedy of the Christchurch terror attacks rightly dominated much of my brainspace, with most of what was left over taken up with a very busy time at work. I didn’t take many snaps, but I did treasure my opportunities to get outside and to soak up some brilliant music – let’s face it, any week you get to see the Arctic Monkeys and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers two days apart, is pretty special!
Medsailors Croatia was an amazing week filled with incredible Croatian land and sea-scapes, laughs and multiple pods of dolphins! The beautiful villages were captivating to visit, but sailing in between them is truly magical. Spending a week exploring with fantastic friends makes for one very special holiday.
